Ex-pro surfer turned ex-editor in chief of Surfing magazine, Jamie Brisick has managed to make a career out of travelling the world, surfing, drinking cocktails and documenting his experiences, observations and insights. Exploring both extreme and luxurious locations, death-defying feats and the age-old quest of unifying man with Mother Nature, he’s written two books and contributes to the New York Times and the Guardian, amongst others.

Jamie’s first book, We Approach Our Martinis with such High Expectations, involves photos of white-sand beaches, toned surfers, and both handwritten and typed tales of midnight parties and non-stop globe trotting. His second, Have Board, Will Travel: The Definitive History of Surf, Skate and Snow is less a diary, more a fun and good-natured look at the skill and dedication board riders put into their art.
